I would like to wish you a warm welcome to The Training and Skills Academy, an alternative provision located in the town centre of Chester-le-Street, where inclusion is at the heart of everything we offer.

With over seventeen years experience as a teacher, four as a Deputy Headteacher, I am passionate in enabling young people to develop self-confidence, self-worth and the aspiration to achieve success to help shape their future.

As leaders in education, we are positioned to make a genuine and lasting difference to the lives of young people; to equip them with the knowledge, skills and emotional intelligence to grow into well adjusted, confident and successful adults who can navigate the wider world and contribute positively to society.

​

In June we will launch our first programme centred around health and fitness. Students will take an active role in a mixture of weightlifting, gymnastics and cardiovascular training suitable for all levels of ability. This will be complemented by qualifications and skills to support future destinations of our students.
